This program offers a limited number of subsidized rental units in privately owned apartment buildings or cooperative housing projects for low income single parents who are attending university.
These rental units are offered through the Rent Supplement Program delivered by Housing Authorities.
Am I Eligible?
To qualify for this program, you must be:
- Enrolled full time at an accredited university in Nova Scotia, and working toward a first undergraduate degree. Continued study through a second undergraduate degree that is part of a concurrent or “blended” degree (e.g., B.A. for a B.S.W., or B.A./BSc. and B.Ed.) is also accepted
- The lone custodial parent
- Eligible for public housing
- Approved for Nova Scotia Student Assistance
