Nancy MacLellan Appointed CEO of Housing Nova Scotia

We are pleased to announce that Nancy MacLellan has been appointed as the new CEO of Housing Nova Scotia. Nancy is an exceptional leader, with passion, drive and commitment to public service.

Nancy has worked for the Nova Scotia government since 1997 in a number of key areas. Her roles included Director of Service Delivery and Operations at Access Nova Scotia; Senior Policy Analyst at Treasury and Policy Board; Director of Court Services at Justice; and Executive Director of Strategy, Registries, and Service Delivery at Service Nova Scotia/Access Nova Scotia. Before accepting her current position, Nancy was the Associate Deputy Minister at the Department of Community Services.

Housing Nova Scotia is the provincial corporation that delivers housing programs and services to low-income Nova Scotians. This includes managing just over 2,150 public housing buildings consisting of approximately 11,500 units that over 17,000 tenants call home. In addition, Housing Nova Scotia offers programs to over 2,500 low-income households to help seniors and persons with disabilities stay in their own homes.

The President and CEO provides strategic and operational guidance to Housing Nova Scotia, as an organization, adhering to government policies and decisions for the benefit of low-income Nova Scotia families, seniors, and individuals.
