REOI - Deadline Extended

Friday, August 1, 2014

Housing Nova Scotia has extended the deadline for non-profit organizations, social enterprises, as well as individual artists and artistic groups who have an interest in acquiring space at Bloomfield.

Parties interested in a tenant/program provider situation now have until end of day on August 15, 2014 to submit a response.  Others interested in taking on the role of the future Non-Profit Community and Cultural Organization must now submit their response prior to end of day on August 22, 2014.

The purpose of this Request for Expressions of Interest is to stimulate interest and gather information to feed into the concept design of the Bloomfield community, cultural, and non-profit space by those looking for space to lease, rent, or buy.

The second objective is to assess interest from non-profit groups in taking on the management, programming, and operating side of the community of cultural space.

The proposed square footage of the site is 355,900 with a minimum of 20,000 set aside for use by community, cultural, and non-profit groups. This space can be shared on a rotational basis or allocated individually and can be owned, rented, or leased. It will embody the principles of inclusiveness, accessibility, and creativity. Housing Nova Scotia encourages respondents to partner with others to engage in this opportunity.

Bloomfield is the perfect forum to display community partnerships and shape community interactions.  The North End, and broader Halifax, will benefit from Bloomfield as it becomes a community hub reflecting a bold, vibrant, and engaged community.
